In 2022 Florida had over 137 million visitors with 7 million coming from overseas.
Fort Lauderdale is located in Broward County and the Miami Metropolitan area, which is the 2nd most populous metro region in US after Washington DC and it is also one the largest urban areas in the US. The metro area has over 6.265 million people which is the 8th largest in the country.
Fort Lauderdale Airport is categorised as a major hub airport that serves both domestic and international destinations for airlines such as Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, United. During 2022 31.6 million passengers travelled through the airport. Furthermore the Port Everglades is a seaport also located in Fort Lauderdale that is an important gateway for both international trade and cruise vacations including Disney, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Silversea and Viking.
